Twelve Gates President Joins the Interfaith Statewide Coalition Board
“The purpose of Interfaith Statewide Coalition is to unite as concerned parents, clergy and community leaders of many faiths, races and language groups in order to increase parent rights in our state (California).
We also seek to inform parents about changing curriculum, laws, definitions and policies in a way that is user friendly and convenient for parents’ busy schedules. Information is power and we seek to empower parents as the primary guardians and caretakers of their children’s upbringing. The Interfaith Statewide Coalition supports School Choice, due to the erosion of parental rights and decreased transparency in our traditional public school system. We believe parents have the right to raise their children according to their religious beliefs, cultural and familial values.
We do not believe public schools have the right to contradict or assault our values nor do they have the right to indoctrinate our children through any means of instruction whether it be in the classroom or via outside partnering agencies working with the schools. We believe parents have the right to know who has access to their children during school hours and through district endorsed agencies via virtual platforms and internet links. ”
