President of Twelve Gates Foundation To Speak At World Interfaith Harmony Week
The Twelve Gates Foundation President, Dr. Frank Kaufmann will speak at the World Interfaith Harmony Week on February 7.
A report on this event together with the content of the address of Twelve Gates president will appear in these pages in the coming days.
The World Interfaith Harmony Week has been observed the first week of February since being adopted by the UN in 2010. The annual event is based on the pioneering work of The Common Word initiative. This initiative brought Muslim and Christian leaders together upon the two fundamental religious Commandments, ‘Love of God, and Love of the Neighbour’. These Two Commandments are at the heart of the three Monotheistic religions and therefore provide the most solid theological ground possible. The WIHW extends the Two Commandments further by adding ‘Love of the Good, and Love of the Neighbour’ to include all people of goodwill.
The World Interfaith Harmony Week provides a platform to promote a culture of peace and non-violence, and to encourage interreligious and intercultural dialogue between all religions, faiths, and beliefs.
